Poulenc in Portrait
09.11.2024 19:30, Ev. Church Hinterzarten
10.11.2024 15:30, Kaisersaal of the Historisches Kaufhaus Freiburg
Poulenc in Portrait is the founding project of the ArcoIris Kammermusik-Kollektiv e.V. – an association of musicians who have made it their mission to illuminate the chamber music oeuvre in theme-centered concerts.
The two concerts on November 9th and 10th are dedicated to the work of the French composer Francis Poulenc: Excerpts from the wind chamber music as well as the song cycle Le travail du peintre, the chamber cantata Un soir de neige, the Sept Chansons for chamber choir (conducted by Johannes Opfermann) and much more will be performed. Poulenc's dazzling music will shine in a new light through the interaction of music, poetry and visual art. In collaboration with the dramaturge Lilli Oeverink and the visual artist Lilianna Hoyme, an overall concept was created that gives the audience an extraordinary concert experience and shows the diversity of Poulenc's music from different perspectives.
The participants are aspiring musicians from all over Germany, some of whom are studying at German music academies, while others are already successful graduates who are currently establishing themselves as professional musicians.
Admission is free. Donations are requested.
