About Us
We are the ArcoIris Kammermusik-Kollektiv e.V. , an association of advanced music students founded in 2024 who have made it their mission to illuminate the diversity of the chamber music repertoire in theme-centered concerts.
Our ensemble name ArcoIris is made up of the words arco (Italian for arch), iris (the iris of the eye) and arco iris (Spanish for rainbow). These terms combine the basic idea of our collective.
In order to reflect the diversity of the chamber music repertoire, our collective will appear in various formations: from solo songs or solo sonatas to chamber choir or chamber orchestra formations, any ensemble composition is possible depending on the concept of the project.
We attach great importance to cooperation with artists from other art forms as well as collaboration with music educators in order to introduce classical chamber music to young audiences.
However, an overall dramaturgical concept that spans our concerts always comes first.
We also see ourselves as a network of musicians who can exchange ideas, learn from each other and benefit from each other beyond making music.
In May 2024, a trio from the collective successfully qualified for a scholarship from the Yehudi-Menuhin-Stiftung "Live Music Now" e.V. Freiburg im Breisgau.
